Hemet, California
Ray McCall Sturgis, 100, died Wednesday at his home in Hemet. Born in Fairfield, Iowa, he had lived in Hemet for 31 years. He was retired from Firestone Rubber Company. His wife, Hazel Mildred (Glover) Sturgis, died on March 16, 1997. He is survived by three nephews, John Sturgis of Edgemont, South Dakota, Ron Sturgis of Tustin, and Robert Sturgis of Lake Oswego, Oregon. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hemet Valley Mortuary. Burial will be in San Jacinto Valley Cemetery.
