I think the birthdate on the stone is wrong. He was from Plainfield, NJ and the Ryno's there have a Bible record with April 24, 1846 as his birthdate.

MAN FOUND DEAD ON FARM NEAR HILLSIDE
Father of Mrs. Jim Scott Succumbs To Sudden Attack.
About noon Thursday the lifeless body of the father of Mrs. Jim Scott, his name not being learned, was found dead on the Weubker place near Hillside, and about 12 miles south of Waco. The discovery was made by Mr. & Mrs. Jim Scott when they returned from Waco, and the body was found in the yard, near an outhouse, about 100 yards from the Scott house. It is thought that the man was stricken suddenly while in the yard, but he was apparently in good health when Mr. & Mrs. Scott left home early Thursday morning. Justice of the Peace, R.B. Stanford went to the place where the man was found dead accompanied by Deputy Sheriff Phil Hobbs and the body was later brought to Waco in Compton's ambulance.
