Hastings, NE. resident, David D. Peterson, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at his home. David was born November 7, 1955 in Hastings, NE., to Ward "Marion" & Dorothy (Saathoff) Peterson.
David lived outside of Pauline, Nebraska on the farm until graduating from Adams Central (NE.) High School in 1974. David attended Central Community College after high school. On November 10, 1979 he married Latishia Weaver and to this union was born his three cherished children. His two sons, Jeremy and James Peterson and his daughter, Trista Peterson. They later divorced and several years later he then married JoAnn Budd the love of his life and joined with her son Joey Budd to their union on December 21, 2001. David spent his life working for the Burlington Northern Railroad until an injury where he then changed professions and worked at Armour Eckrich for several years and later for Sara Lee Bakery until retiring due to health conditions. He was a former member of the Hastings Lodge #50 A.F. & A.M. David enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and watching his son and daughter in their life achievements. He enjoyed his pet Pete, his loving Chihuahua and constant companion. David enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting and they were his great enjoyments next to his children. He will leave behind an abundant amount of love and lots of cherished memories for his children and those who knew him.
David was preceded in death by: infant son, James Dean Peterson; wife, JoAnn Peterson; parents and brother, Larry Peterson.

Daughter: Trista Peterson – Severn, MD
Step-Son: Joey Budd – Phoenix, AZ
