NATHANIEL T. HARRISON

Nat was a very quiet man, had very little to say, and had a very sad look about him. He did know the meaning of hard work and kept his horses in the finest condition. He died in Minden, Louisiana of a kidney disease on June 8, 1925.

Nathaniel was first married to Sarah Callie Chestnut and she died with an unborn child. Ca 1882. She is buried in Bistineau Cemetery with only a cement block, unmarked, next to Nat.

Nat T. Harrison married second Margie Chestnut September 14, 1885 in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. She was a sister to Sarah Callie. Margie's parents are, Walter and Missouri Chestnut. Margie died June 10, 1951 and is buried in Hollywood Cemetery in Houston, Harris County, Texas. Margie lived with her daughter Nora E. Harrison McAlphin.

Margie was a typical Irish Woman, fun loving, could hitch up a team of mules as good as the rest of them and loved to go and visit people. After her husband died she moved on to Houston to live with her daughter Nora. While in Houston, she took on odd jobs, from baby sittint to keeping house for other people.
