Dorcas Thelma Fenton
(December 16, 1919 - December 9, 2011)
With grateful hearts we pay tribute to our loving mother who passed away 6 days prior to her 92nd birthday on December 9, 2011 at her home in Magna, Utah. She was born December 16, 1919 in Rupert, Idaho to Fred Morris Randolph & Gladys Catherine DeWitt Searle. She was raised by her "pa" & "grandma" Randolph whom she loved dearly. She graduated from Rupert High School in 1938. She married Dale Marion Fenton in 1940 in Rupert, Idaho. Later divorced. Mom was a homemaker. She was a strong woman who "did the best she could" with the circumstances she was dealt. She was an avid reader. She used to say "Give me a good book & an apple & I will be gone for the afternoon." She read everything she could get her hands on. She was a founding member of Granger Community Christian Church & a member of Adah Chapter #15 Order of the Eastern Star, Magna, Utah. She played the piano beautifully. She loved to work with her hands, sewing, crocheting, ceramics, embroidering & needlepoint. But she could not fix her own hair "That's why she had her girls." She loved all animals especially Siamese cats. She hated to leave her "Simi". Survived by four daughters & two sons: Ruth Fox, Jean Fox, Beckie Eveler, Frank (Maryann) Fenton, Mary (John) Atkin & Randy (Debra) Fenton. Also 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren & 5 great great grandchildren. Nephew Dee (Kate) Randolph, CA., Special Cousin Jim (Elaine) Randolph, OR., Half sister Pat Manning, CA., & half brother James Lee Randolph, CA. Preceded in death by grandparents, parents, and brothers Bill (Pauline) Randolph & infant brother Tommy. Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the Magna Masonic Center, 2618 S. 8950 W. in Magna, Utah. Interment Rupert Cemetery in Idaho at a later date. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Barb, Dignity Home Care and to Heidi & Mike, Hospice of Utah for the gentle care given to our mother. To granddaughter Sue (Bill) Irish & grandson Allen Fenton, Thank you for caring for your grandma & being there for her. Our deepest appreciation & love to each of you!
