BENNINGTON Florence Louise Bruso, 74, a former resident of Morgan St. in Bennington died Monday March 11, 2013 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington following a long illness.
She was born in Bennington, Vt. March 24, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Charles Augustus Bruso and Lena (Sweet) Bruso. Florence received her education in Bennington. She married Francis "Fred" Brooks on October 25, 1980.
In earlier years Florence was employed in the Laundry Department at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Florence enjoyed watching television and coloring.
Survivors include four daughters, Theresa Wylie of Norwich, Conn., Karen Holbrook of Houston, Texas, Patricia Fontaine of Fall River, Mass. and Frieda Holbrook of Kansas City, Missouri; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; a sister, Georgianna Carter of North Bennington; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was pre-deceased by a sister, Grace Stone and a brother, Charles W. Bruso.
The funeral will be held from the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME on Thursday March 14, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with a prayer and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 11 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.
The burial will take place in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
