Memorial services for Elizabeth Tondee Colvin, 88, of Fayetteville and long-time resident of Thomasville, are at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at First United Methodist Church in Thomasville. The Rev. Waymon Cleveland will officiate. She died Jan. 28 at Southern Regional Hospital in Riverdale. Born, July 7, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Weldon and Annie Belle Harper Tondee of Ellaville She was married to James Minchew Colvin who precedes her in death. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and involved in its many activities. She was an active member in the Daughters of the American Revolution. Working in numerous teaching positions throughout her career, she fully retired after her last position with the Georgia Department of Family and Children's Services. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James M. Colvin Jr. and Denise Colvin; granddaughter, Nicole Wafford of Fayetteville; grandson and wife, Dr. Alex and Dana Colvin; and great-granddaughter, Alexia Colvin. She was preceded in death by sisters, Angie McCorkle and Vida Markette. The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the library of the church.
