George Allen Rutledge, age 81, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013 George was a native of Nashville, Tennessee; he graduated from Isaac Litteon High School. George graduated from Tennessee Tech with a degree in Engineering. He retired from Combustion Engineering with 37 years of service in Nuclear Engineering. George served in the Signal Corps of the Army and retires from the 3397 Garrison Unit of the Army reserves as Deputy Commander and Colonel. George was preceded in death by his parents Allen Faulkner and Ruby Lois Rutledge; and sister Peggy R. Akin George is survived by his wife Joann Rutledge of Signal Mountain, Tennessee; son...

He retired from Combustion Engineering with 37 years of service in Nuclear Engineering. George served in the Signal Corps of the Army and retires from the 3397 Garrison Unit of the Army reserves as Deputy Commander and Colonel.
George was preceded in death by his parents Allen Faulkner and Ruby Lois Rutledge; and sister Peggy R. Akin
George is survived by his wife Joann Rutledge of Signal Mountain, Tennessee; son Andrew ( Sherrie) Rutledge of Rockester Hills, Michigan; daughters Ann (Greg) Wingo of Marietta, Georgia and Tracy Rutledge of Signal Mountain, Tennessee; niece Connie Mundy of Goodlettsville, Tennessee; Grandchildren Brad and Chelsea Rutledge ; best pals Dudley and Lucy

The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 pm on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at St. Paul Episcopal Church
Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, March 14, 2012 at 3 pm at St. Paul Episcopal Church with Reverend Suzanne N. Smitherman Officiating
A private Interment will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to : Book of Rememberance at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 305 W. 7th Street, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37402 or to Highland Park Humane Society, 212 N. Highland Park Ave Chattanooga, Tennessee 37404
