A licensed practical nurse for many years, Alberta had been employed by the former Zurbrugg Memorial Hospital in Riverside and later with Comfort Care Hospice. In her spare time she enjoyed playing canasta, getting into "trouble" with her sister in law, Thelma and the "late night diner runs" with Thelma and George. A fan of the T.V. series The Big Bang Theory, and The Food Network channel, she also had a weakness for coffee and sugar cookies.
In addition to her parents Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her son Benjamin, her granddaughter, Karen Richardson and grandson, David Cox. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter and son in law; Betty (Charlie) Crist, her son and daughter in law; Robert (Shelley) Cox, her two brothers and sisters in law: William (Joy) Snedeker and Irving (Rhoda) Snedeker, her grandchildren and their spouses; Colleen (Kevin) Johnson, Andy (Bridgette) Toohey, Steven (Jodie) Cox, Bobby (Erica) Cox, Michelle (Ed) Kuszmaul, Melissa Clauges, Jennifer (Lotfi) Benzine, Amy (Terrence) Wilson, Julie and Raichel Crist. She also leaves 24 great-grandchildren: Ryan, Kiana, Kelli, Jackson, Christian, Katie, Trevor, Heather, Hayley, Everett, Curtis, Halie, Olivia, Grace, Isabella, Ashley, Adam, Zakaria, Yakoub, Sarah, Kinsey, Michael Vanessa, and Evan as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service and a gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, December, 20th beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Good Samaritan, 964 Holland Road, Holland, PA., 18966. Interment will be private at the family's convenience. Mrs. Cox will be remembered by those who knew her as a loving, kind, caring and giving person and it is in that spirit that the family requests that in lieu of flowers you "pay it forward" by doing something nice for someone, or if you desire, make a donation in Alberta's memory to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are by Page Funeral Home, Burlington. pagefuneralhome.com.
