Mary Ada Forbes was born on January 22, 1872, in Marylebone, Middlesex (an inner-city area of London), England, to Mary Ann Kelly Forbes and Andrew Forbes. She married Charles Taylor, an evangelist, on October 1, 1891, in Leeds, Yorkshire, England. They had 13 children in 26 years (of whom 11 lived to adulthood). The 11 children were named: Mary Grace Taylor, Mabon Forbes Taylor, Charles Forbes Taylor, Laurence Edward Forbes Taylor, Ada Ethel Taylor, Stanley Forbes Taylor, Dorothy Simms Taylor, (Andrew) Phillip Forbes Taylor, Robert Forbes Taylor, Ruth Annie Decima Taylor (later Wyper), Maurice Forbes Taylor. Her husband and two of the sons (Charlie and Laurie) traveled as an evangelistic team. After the other children were old enough, she sometimes traveled with them. She was with them in Colorado when she contracted pneumonia and died on March 4, 1937, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at the age of 65.
