James and Lucy had been anticipating the birth of another child in July of 1929; their daughter Alice, was now 16, and Harold had just turned 5, in February! On July 24, 1929, James and Lucy's son, William Kenneth Eustace was born and welcomed into the family!

Summer turned to fall, and in November of 1929, the family would once again suffer the lost of a beloved child, when little Harold, died on the 2nd of November of that year.

By April of 1930, James, Lucy, and their children Alice and William lived on Sweeny Street. Lucy's widowed mother, Angelique Mirrasoul was also residing with the family. James was employed as a carpenter in the building trades.
