Deceased name: David Willard Moss, 82, formerly of Salisbury Rd., Statesville, died Thursday Dec. 7, 2000 at Jurney's Residential Care, Olin, NC. He was born Oct. 22, 1918 in Catawba Co. the son of the late David William and Essie Mae Brown Moss. He worked as an auto body mechanic. Funeral services will be held Sunday Dec. 10, 2000 at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. David M. Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Iredell Memorial Park.
The family will recieve friends Saturday evening Dec. 9, 2000 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Troutman Funeral Home. Survivors include twwo sons Ronald David Moss and wife Linda, and Alvin Lynn Moss, both of Statesville; one daughter, Reba Joyce Moss of Statesville; one brother Lloyd Thomas "Tommy" Moss and wife Addie of Statesville, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rachael Ostwalt Moss, who died Dec. 19, 1998; four sisters, Dorothy Lee, Cleo Bolick, Maggie Dagenhart, Letha Dagenhart; and three brothers, Thomas Roosevelt, George Melvin and Julius Alexander Moss. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Iredell County, box 822, Statesville, NC 28687 or American Heart Association c/o Lib Cook, 129 Pampas Lane, Mooresville, NC 28117.
