Betsy (Buchanan) Youngkin, age 64, of Greenfield, died Friday, March 8, 2013 at home. Born on September 13, 1948 in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of Heydon W. and Bernice I. (Foy) Buchanan. She received her Associates degree from Indiana University and her X-ray Technician degree through Community Hospital. Betsy married Paul C. Youngkin, Jr. on November 15, 1969.
Betsy worked for Castleton Family Physicians as an X-ray Tech for 8 years and for Community Hospitals for 20 years. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Greenfield, and she loved refinishing furniture and antiquing.
Surviving her are her husband, Paul Youngkin of Greenfield; daughter, Kristina Elizabeth Youngkin of Greenfield; siblings, Edith Ann Wilson of Magnet, Heydon W. (Nancy) Buchanan of Indianapolis, Shelly Sue Buchanan of Knoxville, and twin sister, Belinda (Merle) Davis of Fishers; Mother-in-Law, Hazel Fields of Indianapolis; nieces and nephews, Julie Frame of West Palm Beach, Jessica Hochhauser of Delray Beach, FL, Seth Zaharias of Joshua Tree, California, and Dan Moody of Auburn, AL; and great-nieces and nephews, Sadie Frame, Jack Frame both of West Palm Beach, and Remy Hochhauser of Delray Beach, FL. Preceding her in death were her parents, Heydon and Bernice Buchanan.
Memorial service will be on Tuesday, March 12, at 6:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Bruce Walker will be officiating.
