She was a long time member of Fairbanks United Methodist Church, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. Winnie was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, A.E. "Gene" Smith, sons James M. Smith and Larry W. Smith. She is survived by sons Jack H. Smith, David A. Smith and wife Brenda, Ralph E. Smith and wife Toni, daughter E. Darlene Bryan and husband Alvey, granddaughter Allison E. Bentke and husband Michael, grandsons Jason A. Bryan, Robert A. Smith and wife Kelly, Brant E. Smith, granddaughter Emily P. Smith, five great-grandchildren, two brothers, four sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
