Albert Brown Butler was born about 1844 in Scott County, Mississippi and died January 15, 1929 at his home in Bee County, Texas. He enlisted on June 26, 1862 at Escondedo, and served in Pyron's Regiment. He was captured at Tippedoreville, Bayou LaFouche, Louisiana on June 21, 1862, was imprisoned Algiers, paroled New Orleans, LA, and sent to Fortress Monroe, VA, recvd. At City Point, VA for exchange on July 6, 1863. He was discharged April 1865 at Galveston.

Albert was the son of Burnell and Sarah Ann Ricks Butler. He married Sarah Emaline Waller on Sep 26, 1864 in Live Oak Co. Texas. To this union issue was born.
