CALLED BY DEATH AT AGE OF SEVENTY
Was Retired Farmer and Resident of this Vicinity Forty Years
Joseph Brewster, retired farmer and resident of Winnebago county for forty years, died last evening at 9:45 o'clock at his home, 913 Woodlawn avenue, after an illness of two weeks, which resulted from injuries suffered in a fall about two years ago.
Mr. Brewster was born in Lincolnshire, England, Dec. 3, 1845, and came to this country in 1854, locating first in Stephenson county. He removed to a farm in Owen township forty years ago, coming to this city to live a few years ago on his retirement from active pursuits.
He was twice married, his first wife being Miss Lizzie Smith, and his second wife, Miss Jeanette Patterson, to whom he was married in 1885 and who survives him. There are three children by the first marriage, David and George Brewster, who live on the home farm in Owen, and Mrs. Grace Brewster Clark of Alberta, Canada, and one son by the second marriage, Willmer Brewster, who lives at the home. Deceased was a member of the Court Street Methodist Episcopal church.
Furneral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the home and at 1 p.m. at the church in Owen Center. Interment will be made in the Owen Center cemetery. It is the request of the family that friends omit flowers.
