Funeral Held For Mrs. M. C. Hamilton
On Tuesday afternoon, February 17, Funeral services for Mrs. Minerva C. Hamilton were held at the Hopewell Cemetery with interment there.
This fine mother of whom neighbors said: "she was one of the best, the most sacrificing women we ever knew" formerly lived and reared her two boys in the George community.
The sons, William L. and Thomas Hamilton left their mother in a little home of their own in Houston and went away to do their service to their country. They had been discharged from the Army but a short time when Mother sickened and died.
Mrs. Hamilton, age 53 years, one month, and twenty one days, of this world leaves to mourn her departure: the two sons, aged mother Mrs. Emily Collins of George; two brothers, W. A. and John Henry Collins of George, and five sisters: Mrs. Isabel Berry, and Mrs. Efffie Huckaby of Bryan, Mrs. Ocie Berry of North Zulch, Mrs. Betty Hawkins of Kerrville, and Mrs. Edna Martin of Normangee.
This good Christian Mother, a member of the Free Will Baptist Church had many friends who extended sympathy in the bereved family. The service was conducted by Rev. C. E. Bullock.
