Doyle R. Hilton, age 77, of Crestview, Fla., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 7, 2013. He was born in Baker, Fla., on April 24, 1935, to Walter Preston and Daisy Hilton. Doyle grew up in Baker and graduated from Baker High School. He served his country in the United States Army. For many years Doyle served as Deputy Tax Collector for twenty seven years and later was elected as Okaloosa County Tax Collector. Doyle was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and he loved to hunt and fish. Doyle was preceded in death by his daughter, Karin Hilton; his father, Walter Preston Hilton; and brothers, Dolan "Red" Hilton and Don Hilton.
Doyle is survived by his wife of 47 years, Doris Hilton; daughters, Becky Baggett and Stacey Diven and husband, Daniel; sons, Jace Hilton and Dean Hilton and wife, Beverly. Also surviving are his mother, Daisy Hilton; brother, Wade Hilton and wife, Margaret; grandchildren, Dustin Davis, Zack Hilton and Sydney Diven; and numerous extended family and many church family and friends.
