Mrs. Geraldine Reid Thompson, age 67, wife of Larry Thompson, of Millers Creek died Friday, March 8, 2013 at Carolina Medical Center University Hospital in Charlotte.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 2:00 at Peace Haven Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Hutchins and the Rev. Tim Pruitt officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30. Burial will be in Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 Saturday, March 16, 2013.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Caldwell Co., on December 30, 1945, to William Lee and Annie Lavender Reid. She was a member of Peace Haven Baptist Church. She was a member and Chaplain of District 15 of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Past Chaplain, current Patriotic Instructor and Americanism Chairman of VFW Post 1142 Ladies Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by one son, Christopher W. Thompson, one granddaughter, Sierra Thompson, one brother, Glenn Reid and one sister, Nancy Hutchins.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Thompson is survived by two sons, David Thompson and wife, Mellisa of Pensacola, FL and Jim Epley and wife, Krista of Hays; seven grandchildren, Eva Futch and husband, Davin, Haleigh Thompson, Hunter Thompson, Tanner Thompson, Chance Epley, Faith Epley, Stormy Epley; one great grandchild, Bentley Thompson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christopher W. Thompson Scholarship Fund, C/O VFW Post 1142, PO Box 357, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
