Mr. Joe N. Benson, 60, of Advance, Mo., died Sunday, April 28, 1996 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born November 25, 1935 at Morris Chapel, Tenn., he was a son of the late Everett Benson and the late Gladys Alexander Benson.
A brother, James Benson, also preceded him in death.
A member of the Southern Baptist Church in Denton, Texas, Mr. Benson was a member and past master of the Zalma Masonic Lodge of AF & AM #545, and a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a construction superintendent for R. L. Person Co. of Poplar Bluff, Mo.
On November 28, 1953 at Corinth, Miss., he was united in marriage with Carolyn Turner.
Mr. Benson leaves his wife, Mrs. Carolyn Turner Benson of Advance; two daughters: Patricia Hunt of Barozria, Texas and Donna Lineberry of Advance; three brothers: Johnny Benson of Marion, Ark., Jerry Benson of Memphis, Tenn., and Charles Benson of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Betty Moore, of Memphis; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Benson were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 1996, at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, with Rev. Gene Lineberry officiating, assisted by Rev. Scott Price.
Burial was at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance with arrangements by Morgan Funeral Chapel of Advance.
