Obituary for Peter Michael Scocca, age 86 of Lilburn and Blairsville, GA passed away March 7, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Clara Lentz Wilt Scocca; daughter Nanci Lyn Scocca Speagle of Snellville and Newry, SC; grandson, Scott Michael Speagle and wife Gina of Montgomery, AL; great grandchildren, Sydney Charlotte, Grant Michael and Sawyer Maise.
Peter was born in Bayonne, NJ and was originally named Pellegrino, but was called "Buddy" by his family. He was proud of his Sicilian heritage. He attended St. Peter's Prep and in 1950 received a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers University. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a hospital corpsman, and served on the Admiral's Sharpshooter Team. Among his many accomplishments was the development of a patented air pollution reduction chemical process. Peter was loved, admired and respected throughout his life.

A Funeral Service Honoring the Life of Peter Michael Scocca will be held Sunday, March 10 at 4:00pm at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. Interment will be held at GA National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at the funeral home.
