Burres Bean, 102, of Kirbyville, Texas, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 in Beaumont, Texas.

A native and lifelong resident of Kirbyville, she was a longtime music teacher for Call and Kirbyville schools, and was a longtime private piano teacher, still teaching piano until age 101. She was a graduate of Kirbyville High School and Stephen F. Austin State University. She received her Masters Degree from Hardin-Simmons University.

She is survived by three nieces, Linda, Laverne and Diana; four nephews, Gordon, Jimmy, Bobby, and Don.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Alonzo Allen and sister, Helen Sheffield.
