Louise W. Browder, 95, of Lake City, passed away at Lake City Hospital on February 28, 2015, after battling an illness. Louise was born on December 10, 1919, in Greeleyville, SC. She married the late Edgar Browder on March 28, 1935, and was married for 53 years. She was also a devoted mother of 10 children: of Minnesota, Lake City, and Florence; three daughters-in-law of Tennessee, Myrtle Beach, and Lake City; one sister of Lake City; and one sister-in-law of Lake City. She was preceded in death by her four sons, Levon Browder, Charlie Browder, Zingle Browder, and Frank Browder; her mother, Gussie Knight; her father John Hampton Wright; five brothers, Henderson Wright, Dick Wright, Frank Wright, Zingle Wright, and Leroy Wright; one sister, Alma Spriggs; and three grandchildren, Deborah Browder, Donna Browder, and Catina Browder. She had 27 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren.
She dedicated her life to the Lord at the age of 9. She was a devoted Christian woman to all of her family, friends, and church family. She was a dedicated member of the the Lake City Church of God for over 70 years and the last original charter member. She loved gardening, fishing, spending time with her family, and cooking. She enjoyed going on trips with the church and loved going to any gatherings or revivals at the church.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 800 pm, Monday, March 2, 2015 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Lake City Church of God, 214 South Ron McNair Boulevard, Lake City, SC. Mrs. Louise will lie in state one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in the Lake City Memorial Park.
