Funeral services for Elmer "Bud" Hayes, 63, former Drury Township resident, were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the George M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home, Muscatine, Ia. The Rev. Arnold Hutchinson officiated and burial was in the Illinois City Cemetery.
Mr. Hayes died Wednesday, Feb. 24, in Hart Spring, Fla., while on a fishing trip.
Mr. Hayes was born Oct. 17, 1918, in Drury Township, the son of Leslie Vernon and Maymie Price Hayes.
He was a farmer.
He was a former member of Eliza Community Mehtodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elva Hayes, of Bell, Fla.; two sons, Michael, of Bell, Fla., and William L., of Illinois City, four grandchildren; and two sisters Mrs. Wayne Bieri and Mrs. Bradford Shirkey, both of Illinois City.
