Jayalee Eudine Brooks Benningfield Walker was born May 1, 1926 in Urbanette, Arkansas, to Alex and Vinnie Holland Brooks.

Married Ray Benningfield, August 2, 1942 in Hawthorne, Nevada. Ray passed away June 3, 1990 in Weiser, ID.

Married Jess G. Walker, June 17, 1997 in Weiser, ID. Jess passed away February 3, 2010

She worked in Weiser at the box factory, Safeway Foods, and Idaho 1st National Bank for many years, beginning as a teller and retiring as Operations Officer. She engaged in many community activities and was a proud citizen of Weiser.

Jay was a member of the Weiser and Ontario, Oregon Women's Bowling association. She participated in many state and national bowling tournaments over the years. These years saw many tournament winnings. Mom never rolled a "300" Game, but it was not for lack of trying! In 1997 she was honored at the Idaho State Bowling Association by bowling the first ball of the tournament.

After retirement she enjoyed road trips and cruises to many places in the world. Spending time in McCall at the cabin, entertaining family and friends, collecting crystal and helping others were some of her pleasures.

She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Social Sorority, Friends of the Weiser Hospital, Order of the Rose and the Weiser Christian Church. She was the Old Time Fiddler's Festival parade chairman for several years.

Jay was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jack and Gene; three sisters, Virginia, Ruth and Barbara; and her husbands, Ray Benningfield in 1990 and Jess Walker in 2010.

She is survived by her, sons Kelley R. (Paula) Benningfield, of Pocatello, ID, and Steven A.
