Mrs. Mender was born September 4, 1918, in Hall Summit, Louisiana, and had lived the past several years in Texarkana. She was a homemaker and became a member of First Baptist Church in Bossier City, LA in June 1943, and was active in its activities until her move to Texarkana to be near family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Mender.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Bill Caller of Texarkana, Arkansas; one grandchild, Becky Sweet of Texarkana, Texas; one great-grandchild, Sara Caitlin Caller of Texarkana; one brother, Richard Kellogg of Forest Hill, Louisiana; one sister, Margaret Gates of Troy, Michigan.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 28, 2012 at Union Hall Cemetery, Coushatta, Louisiana, with Brother Tommy Allen officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.
