Edith R. Acker, 82, of Cedar View Apartments, Allentown, formerly of St. John Street, Allentown, died Friday, Oct. 4, in her home. She was the wife of the late Edgar M. Acker.
A 1931 graduate of Allentown Business college, she was a medical secretary at the Allentown State Hospital many years ago. Before that she was a professional dancer and assistant instructor at the former Mona LaMar dance studio.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Frank D. and Nellie D. (Fatzinger) Rickert. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Trexlertown.
Survivors: Daughters, Carol A., wife of Dr. Joseph G. Gackenbach of Allentown, and Sharon A., wife of John K. Grumbein of Trexlertown; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Grandview Cemetery, Allentown. No calling hours. Arrangements, Stephens Funeral Home, Allentown.
