Ness Clyde Coffey, 87, of Cowpens, SC, died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.

Born April 19, 1917, in Mayo, he was the son of the late Ness and Geneva Bell (Quinn) Coffey. He was married for 64 years to the late Parniece (Allison) Coffey.

A retired truck driver, he was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, the Men's Adult Sunday School Class, and a U.S. Army Veteran.

Survivors include two sons, Clyde G. Coffey of Spartanburg, and Michael C. Coffey of Greensboro, NC; two sisters, Mrs. James Waters of Chesnee, and Mary Ruth Robinson of Cherryville, NC; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Yvonne (Coffey) Shank.

Visitation was 3:00-3:30 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2005, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

Funeral services followed at 3:30 p.m. at the Church, conducted by Dr. Robert W. Kirby, Jr. and the Rev. Ray Caldwell. Burial was in the Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 250 Mt. Olive Road, Cowpens, SC 29330.
