Born on March 22, 1915, in Union Deposit, Pa., he was a son of the late Jessie and Ella Dentler Chronister.
A farmer and antique dealer, he was also employed with TB Wood's for over 30 years, retiring in 1971.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie B. Rinker Chronister, residing at Penn Hall; one son, Charles D. (and wife Patricia) Chronister, of Lorain, Ohio; one daughter, Judy A. (wife of Karl) Ochs, of Woodbridge, Va.; one sister, Martha Daniels, of York, Pa.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, one brother, and one stepsister.
Interment in Norland Cemetery.
