She was the daughter of Nathan Allen and Eudora B. "Dora" (Jones) Blackwell and married William Joseph Knight - 18 Jun 1890 - Lincoln Co., Tennessee. Her obituary follows:

Funeral This Afternoon At Residence --

Mrs. Mary Blackwell Knight, wife of the late W. J. Knight, a conductor on the N. C. and St. Louis Railway for a number of years, died at her residence on North Main Avenue Wednesday afternoon, June 2, after a lingering illness.

She was the dauaghter of Allen and Mary Jones Blackwell, all Tennessee residents. She would have been 74 years old had she lived until June 20. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

The funeral will be held at the residence Thursday afternoon, at 5 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. W. Taylor Clarke, of Chattanooga, and Elder R. A. Largen, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J. C. Goodrich, and one grandson, Jack Goodrich, both of Fayetteville; one brother, D. L. Blackwell, of Huntsville; two sisters, Mrs. L. Wise, of Huntsville, and Mrs. V. M. Alverson of Talledega, Alabama. She was an aunt of Mrs. O. W. Baites, of Fayetteville, and Mrs. Dora Stowers, of Shelbyville.
