Mrs. Melissa E. Higgins, 84, of 9509 East Fifty-third, Raytown, died yesterday at the Menorah Medical center. She was born in Reno County, Kansas, and lived in this area 53 years. She was a Methodist.

Surviving are three sons, Joseph W. Higgins, 403 East 105th; Frank Higgins of the home, and Raymond Higgins. 553 South Eleventh, Kansas City, Kansas; four daughters, Mrs. Melissa Marbut, Ontario, Calif.; Mrs. Esther L. Williams, 6227 Prospect, and Mrs. Mabel L. Bruch, 2036 North Sixteenth, and Mrs. Ruth E. Carlson, 3601 Wood, both of Kansas City, Kansas; 29 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1 o'clock Monday at the Earp chapel; burial in Memorial Park cemetery.
