James A. Coey, 83, of Baltimore, died Wednesday, Sept, 22, 2004, at Fairfield Medical Center.

He ws a retired section hand for the railroad with 40 years of service. He was a WWII US Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Coey; one daughter; three sons ; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Donna Baker.

**He was preceded in death by his sons, JAMES, and CHARLES Coey; five sisters; and four brothers.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Johnson-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Baltimore, with Pastor Daniel Monk officiating. Burial will folow in Maplewood Cemetery.

**Note: James is buried next to his sons in Maplewood.
