LENA GRALL

Mrs. Ignatz Grall, 76, lifelong resident of the county and residing in Whitelaw the past 18 years, died early Thursday at the Holy Family Hospital following several months’ illness.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the Grall home and at 9:30 at St. Michael Catholic church, Whitelaw. The Rev. John Husslein will officiate and burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

She was born Lena Meyer in Whitelaw in 1874 and in 1893 was married to Mr. Grall. They located on a farm in Cato and in 1932 moved to Whitelaw. Mr. Grall died in January, 1949. She was a charter member of the Christian Mothers of St. Michael Congregation.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Peter Hartlaub and Mrs. Louis Reimer of Manitowoc and Miss Mathilda Grall of Milwaukee; five sons, John of Greenville, Wis., Joseph of Chicago, Frank of Whitelaw, Anton of Reedsville and Alfred of Clarks Mills; two brothers, Frank and Louis of Whitelaw; three sisters, Mrs. Theresa Meidl, Mrs. Marbara Menlik and Mrs. John Heinzen of Whitelaw; 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

The casket will be moved to the Grall home from the Mittnacht funeral home, Manitowoc at 2 p.m. Saturday where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday.
