Richard Dale "Butch" Fairless
(February 22, 1931 - February 26, 2013)

Richard passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at the age of 82 due to a quick decline in health as he progressed into the later stages of dementia.

Richard was born in Tranquility; he graduated from Tranquility High and Fresno Junior College before serving his country as a Military Police Officer in the Army. He married the mother of his three beautiful daughters before settling in Caruthers. It was years later that he found his love and life companion Donna and raised her children as his own. He remained in Caruthers and spent the rest of his years as a Sun-Maid Raisin Grower and collector of all things not nailed down. He was hard working and enjoyed spending his time outdoors. He was happiest relaxing in the sun with a good book or playing with his kids, grandkids or a loyal pet. He was a skilled hunter and fisherman and was especially known for his athleticism in wrestling, football and boxing.

Richard was well respected by everyone who met him and will forever be remembered for his quick wit and humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jones and Leona Sims Fairless, Sister Helen, Brother Dwayne, daughters Rebecca Fairless and Lee Ann Dean Fairless.

Survivors include his companion of 30 years, Donna Taylor, daughter Dawn, children Jenny and Marc Renfro, Jeanette and Joe Taylor, Michael and Alissa Taylor, grandchildren Heather and Scott Garrison, Nicole and Larry Esqueda, Joshua and Charlotte Dean, Audrey Houston and Alicia Houston, Jakob Taylor, Faye Renfro and Lillian Taylor, great grandchildren Brady, Daniel, Will, Lucas, Logan, and Emma as well as nieces and nephews.

He is truly loved and will forever be missed by all. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 8, 2013 from 2:00 to 7:00 pm at Page Funeral Chapel, 2014 Arrants St, Selma, CA 93662.
