She was preceded in death by her mother, father, Leo Kortesmaki, her husband of 28 years, Patrick Leo Kortesmaki her first born son, her 7 brothers and 5 sisters, and one grandson. She is survived by 3 sons, William John Kortesmaki of Tustin, California, Philip Michael Kortesmaki of Houston, Missouri and Carl Steven Kortesmaki of Santa Ana, California, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She grew up in Fredericksburg, Texas and attended school at a one room schoolhouse. She went to California as a teen and met and married Leo Kortesmaki. To this union 4 sons were born.
Ella enjoyed traveling around the country. She traveled from California to Texas yearly for family reunions and even took a cab to the airport all by herself. She especially enjoyed going to Minnesota where she would visit her grandchildren.
Ella moved to Texas County, Missouri after she retired from nursing in 1994. She lived there until her death. She enjoyed helping others and volunteering at the senior center until her health disallowed her to. She was a member of St. Marks Catholic Church. She had a strong faith in her Lord and Savior.
She will be missed.
