Anna Mary Rumbarger Marshall was the wife of William Kelker Marshall (see his listing and biographical sketch). She was the daughter of John Rumbarger (1810-1889) and Elizabeth Leathers (1818-1844) and was born at Warriors Mark, Huntington County PA. She was married on 9 Feb 1855 in Brookville, Jefferson County, PA.

The Marshalls lived in the lumber camps of Jefferson County, eventually making their home in Reynoldsville at Cool Spring Hollow on East Main Street. She was the mother of twelve children, whose birth dates range from 1856-1884. Their names were: George Kelker Marshall, John Leathers Marshall, Charlotte Elizabeth Marshall Seeley, Mary Lovina Marshall Hartman, William Frederick Marshall, Henry Frank Marshall, Sarah Margaret Kleinhans Rhodes Hildebrand, Alice Katie Heffner, Laura Eva Marshall, Leila Gertrude Marshall, Earl Jay Marshall and Guy Ralph Marshall.

Her husband was a lumberman and farmer. The first photo was taken in her backyard in 1921, when her granddaughter Evangeline Seeley came from Kansas to see her. In the second photo, she appears to be pregnant; her age, the dress and type of photograph may indicate that the photo was taken in the mid-or late 1850s. She was my great-great Grandmother Marshall.

DEATH TAKES THREE AGED AND RESPECTED WOMEN
Mrs. Anna Mary Marshall

Mrs. Anna Mary Marshall, daughter of the late John L. (sic) Rumbarger, died at the home of her son, John L. Marshall, East Main street, Reynoldsville, Pa., on Tuesday night at 11:30 o'clock at the age of 86 years, 9 months and sixteen days.

She was born in Huntington county on February 7, 1838 and was married to William K. Marshall on February 9, 1855 in Brookville, Pa. Her husband preceded her in death on August 2, 1911. To this union the following sons and daughters were born: George and John of Reynoldsville; W. F. of Clarion; Guy R., of Gordontown, Pa.; Earl J., of Chickasaw, Pa.; Frank Clinton, deceased, of Carson, Washington; Mrs. Charles Seeley, deceased, of Wichita, Kan.; Mrs. Mary Hildebrand, of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Kate Heffner, of Big Run; Mrs. Lavina Hartman, deceased; Miss Laura Marshall, deceased, and Leila G. Marshall, deceased.

The deceased is survived by one brother and one sister, J. L. Rumbarger, of Philadelphia; and Mrs. John Goodyear, of DuBois. One brother and one sister preceded her in death, and to a second union there were four brothers and four sisters, one surviving, William Rumbarger, of DuBois.

There are forty-six grandchildren and fifty-three great ¬grandchildren surviving. She united with the M. E. Church at the age of twelve years and was a faithful and devoted member, being held in the highest esteem by all who knew her.

The funeral was held on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with the services at the late home with Rev. W. V. McLean, of the First Methodist church, assisted by Rev. J. S. Brownlee, of the Bap¬tist church of Reynoldsville, in charge. Burial was made in the Baptist cemetery.

Williams, DuBois; Charles Sprankle and family, Punxsutawney; Harry Daugherty and family, Paradise; Tone Evans, DuBois; Mrs. Stella Reeves, Wichita, Kansas; Cresson Marshall and family, Clarion; W. H. Goodyear, DuBois; Cora Miller, Grampian.
