Lorene A. Carter, 83, of O'Kean, died Monday in Methodist Hospital in Jonesboro. She was a daughter of the late James Franklin and Ora (Ford) Armstrong. Her husband Clyde C. Carter, one grandson, and a sister Zinna "Brownie" Whitmire, also preceded her in death. Surviving are six sons, Fred Carter and Larry Carter, both of Pocahontas, Gary Carter of Hillsboro, MO, James Carter of O'Kean, Jeff Carter of Beaumont, TX, and Ronnie Carter of St. Louis; three daughters, Genevieve Juanita Bruns of St. Louis, MO, Barbara Sullivan of St. Anne, IL, and Sue Rickey of Pocahontas; two brothers, Darrell Armstrong of Mayflower and Harold Armstrong of Pocahontas; two sisters, Josephine French of O'Kean and Pauline Lacert of Sacramento, CA; 20 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
