Mabel was born in Boone County Indiana,in 1897 to Peter Hoover and Ollie "Bertha" Crouch-Hoover-Drenning.She was the only one of three children to reach adulthood,she married Lee Otis Holmes her first husband on July 12,1918 in Hillsdale,Michigan,after Lee died in 1939 she remarried to a Mr Kirby,she is buried next to her first husband Lee Otis Holmes In Zionsville Cemetery.
