Last rites for Norma Jean Campbell Clement were held Friday afternoon at two o'clock at First Christian Church in Water Valley with her pastor, Ferman Anderson, Jr. and the Rev. Kenneth Jordan officiating. The church could not hold all those who came to pay their respects to this lovely lady.

Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery with Bennie Cole Taylor, Melvin Ford, Alfred Reed, Jerry Holt, Woody Walker and Ron Ostrander serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Clement died at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday February 3, 1982, at Yalobusha General Hospital. She had been ill for some time.

She leaves her husband, Travis Otis Clement of Water Valley; two daughters, Charlotte Y. Clement and Denise L. Clement and a son, Lance Clement, all of Water Valley; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George D. Campbell, Sr. of Barnwell, S.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Joyce A. Helms of Wilmington, Del. and Miss Linda Comiskey of Austin, Texas; one brother, Dan Campbell of Hanahan, S.C.

Mrs. Clement was born December 22, 1944 in Old Hickory, Tennessee. She had lived in Water Valley for eight years and had endeared herself to a wide circle of friends. She was a gentle, loving person and accepted her long illness in a brave, sweet way that was an inspiration to those about her.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Water Valley.
