At the age of 3 (1860) George migrated with his parents by wagon train to Moscow, Idaho Terr. In 1877 he served as a military scout in the Indian Wars. George had many occupations; in 1881 he was the 1st sheriff of Moscow, Idaho Terr., a farmer, a newspaper publisher/journalist, and Methodist Minister.
