The funeral for Alma Helen James, 77, 714 N. Malone, who died Monday evening at a local nursing home, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Kenneth Wade will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

The casket will be open until service time and then remain closed after the service.

Mrs. James was born March 19, 1909, in Fairview. She was raised in the Garber-Fairmont area where she attended schools, graduating from Billings High School. In August of 1929, she and Edwin Blaser were married in Garber. They farmed in Garber, Red Rock and Pawnee. He died in October of 1941. She then moved to Fairmont where for many years she was a cook at Zion Lutheran Church School. In 1958, she moved to Enid and in 1960, married William F. James. She was a long time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, William; a son, Lester Blaser, Enid; a daughter, Doris Blaser, Lawton; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a step-son, Jerry James, Tulsa, seven step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a son and a step-son.
