Roger Lee Carpenter, age 71, of Asheville and formerly of Marion, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Brian Center Health & Rehabilitation in Weaverville.
Born in Cleveland County, NC on August 12, 1941, he was the son of the late Walter Lee Carpenter and Belvia Daves Carpenter. After 30 years of service, Roger retired from Ball Glass Container and later retired from Buncombe County Schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Roger is survived by a number of cousins and numerous friends.
A graveside service was held Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery in Ellenboro. Military graveside rites were provided by the U.S. Army.
