Jan Bapt. (Johan/John) Dvorak (Dworak) was born in Ratiborice, Bohemia and married Catherine Chorvat there ca. 1850. They came to America ca. 1855 and settled on a farm in Carlton Township, Kewaunee County Wisconsin. They were the parents of 10 children. Their son John took over ownership of the family farm and was the only one of the 10 children to remain in Wisconsin. Daughter Barbara born Dec. 4, 1866 in Wis., married Charles Shermak in 1899. Barbara died June 25, 1952 in Camrose, Alberta Canada.
