Mary Lenore Harvey, was born on April 25, 1925, and completed her work here on earth March 1, 2013. She was 87 years old. Named after her two grandmothers, Mary Harvey and Lenore Edwards, she embraced her responsibilities of caring for family and passing on family traditions. She preserved the family art of noodle making by training several members of the next generation. She was small in stature, but big in heart!

Mary was a loyal daughter, sister, friend, and aunt. She left Indiana University to care for her father after he suffer a heart attack, cared for her aging mother until her death, dismantled the Edwards home place when Gladys Edwards Cox passed away, and she cared for her long time friend, Dot Pogue, during her long illness.

She was a horse enthusiast. Even during the last year of her life she mentioned that she planned to get another horse, and that she thought she could still ride. She enjoyed her years in the Circle G Saddle Club.

Mary loved to have a good time, and children were among her favorite companions. She gave her niece and nephew, her great nieces and nephews, and countless other children in Grant County unconditional love and enthusiastic encouragement for whatever their hearts desired. Hundreds of children have called her "Aunt Mary." Every child should be so lucky as to have an aunt like Mary Harvey!

Mary was a farm girl through and through. She accompanied her father on his farm chores and could drive a tractor and work in the fields at an early age. One of her first jobs off the farm was running a gas station with three other young women. She worked in the Grant County Auditor's Office in Marion for several years, and finished her career at General Motors where she worked in data processing when computers were the size of a small room. She retired from General Motors in 1985.

Mary leaves behind her sister-in-law, Betty Harvey; her nephew John (Michele) and niece Judy (Raleigh); John's children Jerin (Chris) and Zach; Judy's children Kristie, Angie (Scott), Sokhan (Ralph), Chhary (Sina), and Adia (Trevor); and numerous great-great nieces and nephews and even a few great-great-greats.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Xen Harvey, and her great nephew Nathan Harvey-Bailey (Jen).

Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 5 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, Indiana 46928 with the funeral following at 1:00 PM. Pastor Brock Meyer will be officiating and interment will take place at the Park Cemetery, Fairmount, IN.
