He was born in Catawba Co., N.C., and was a former resident of Crescent City.
He retired from Pride of the South Mountain Egg Co. He was owner and operator of Bass Capital Mobile Home Park in Crescent City. He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Mull Rhoney of Vale, N.C.; father, Charlie Rhoney; mother, Hattie Willis Rhoney; sons, David Rhoney and Steve Rhoney, both of Vale; daughter, Sheila Annas of Vale; brother, W. V. Rhoney of Vale; sisters, Clara Belle Brittain and Annie Mae Huffman, both of Vale; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Russell and Chaplain Kim Dowell officiating.
Burial will be in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery.
