On Friday night, July 3d, Mr. James H. Pullen died at the age of 73 year while visiting his son, Mr. J. D. Pullen, and his daughter-in-law, Mrs. B.W. Pullen at Soperton.
Mr. Pullen had been residing at McRae, where his wife died in 1906. He was a native of Emanuel county, that portion now in Johnson county, and had a host of friends all over this section. He was a member of that fast disappearing band who wore the gray, having fought through the war as a member of the thirty -second Georgia Regiment. Just after the war he married Susan R. Mason, and four sons and one daughter survive him.
