Joan D. Goodwin, 80, died Friday, March l, 2013 at the Masonic Homes of Kentucky in Shelbyville. She was a native of Camden, New Jersey. She was a Kentucky Colonel, a Leadership Shelby alumni, and was a member of the Shelbyville First Presbyterian Church. She most recently had been a counselor with the Shelby County Drug/Alcohol Advisory Council (Shelby Prevention) and had also worked as an elementary school teacher.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Maurice Goodwin, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Francis "Tad" Goodwin III (Deborah) of Stockbridge, VT and Rodman M. Goodwin (Margo Tiffany) of Chicago, IL; her daughter, Megan Goodwin (Bruce Roscoe) of Mt. Pleasant, MI; and 3 grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Shelbyville First Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in the Grove Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m.
