87 YEARS OLD
A native Houstonian, Roy was a lifetime member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church located at 1300 Holman St. He served his country as an officer in the Merchant Marines during WWII and was retired from Shell Developing Company and Nabisco. Roy was a hard-working man who loved his family above everything. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping in Colorado, and he had a passion for cars and motorcycles. His son, Donald Herdejurgen and his great-grandson, Paul Schoubert, preceded him in death. Roy is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Helen Wolfe Herdejurgen; daughter, Jean Slovcek and husband, James; son, Ronald Herdejurgen; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He will also be greatly missed by his beloved cat, Theodore.
