A memorial service for Charles Monroe "Chuck" Harris, 48, of Roanoke, who died March 9, 2009, at home, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at One Accord Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Woods officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church for one hour before the service Friday.
Harris was born in Martinsville on Feb. 28, 1961, to Shirley Lipford Harris Slocum and Lowell Thomas Harris. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Lee Harris, in 1983.
He graduated from Martinsville High School and ECPI College of Technology in Roanoke. He owned a satellite dish systems company and later worked in the corporate offices of Advance Auto Parts until becoming disabled.
He attended McCabe Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, of Martinsville, are a daughter, Adrianne Harris Bowyer of Martinsville; three brothers, Thomas Gene Harris Sr. of Henderson, N.C., Nelson Dale Harris of Shacklefords and Mark Steven Harris of Roanoke; and two granddaughters.
Memorials may be made to One Accord Baptist Church, 3630 Kings Mountain Road, Martinsville, Va. 24112.
Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Chuck's ashes were scattered April 08, 2010, in Kibler Valley, VA, near the Harris cabin where the family spent family vacations.
