Another one of our old citizens died on Friday morning, Feb. 18, in the person of George W. Taylor, aged 78 years last Christmas. He came with his parents to Brown (then Schuyler) county, 1831, and settled near where the town of Hersman now stands. He was united in marriage with Harriet Mansir in 1844 [18 Dec 1842]. To them were born four boys and three girls: Geo. W. of Franklin county, Neb.; John W., of St. Joe, Mo.; R. A. and Chas. E. who reside in Ripley. The girls were Angelina, who married about thirty years ago, and died a few years later; Rosetta married about twenty-five years ago and has been dead several years; Velma married James L. Stoffer and is living here. Mrs. Taylor was very sick at the time of the death of her husband and is still low, with but little hope of recovery.
